Alexandra Park

In January 2020, I started photographing at Alexandra Park. Slowly, I began to see past the urban decay that caught my attention and appreciate the stark physical beauty of the community. I decided to continue shooting throughout 2020.

In 1964, the City approved a large-scale social housing development for Alexandra Park that replaced the existing street system with an inward facing community linked by pedestrian walkways and other green spaces. In 2020, Alexandra Park is halfway through a second major transformation that will involve demolishing the original community.

The six images in this show are part of a photo book capturing my year of photographing at Alexandra Park.
