Huw Morgan

Huw Morgan is a professional art and event photographer based in southern Ontario. He is working on several art photography projects, including The End of the ICE Age, Traces of Settlement and City in Motion. Morgan has had solo shows at Gallery 44, and at the Kawartha Art Gallery. He has also exhibited in group shows at Gallery 1313 (Spectra), Gallery 44, Twist Gallery, Rails-end Gallery, Elaine Fleck Gallery and, most recently, Kawartha Art Gallery where his photo Dahl Forest Wetland won an award of merit.

Artist Statement

The Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) has powered cars for more than a century. We are approaching the tipping point where electric motors will replace piston engines running on fossil fuels. This is a bittersweet moment for those of us who grew up loving the rumble of a big American V8 on a hot summer’s night or the growl of an Italian V12 on a street in Rome. As an homage to the End of the ICE Age, Huw Morgan has created images of cars and trucks gently dissolving into the forest.
